Second round (Day 12). 21.10.2018 Ararat-Armenia vs Pyunik 0-0

In the previous round our team managed to win the first away match of the spring part of the Armenian Premier League against reigning champion Alashkert. It allowed Pyunik to reduce the difference of points with the leader and besides, equalize the points with Banants who places second. In this round Pyunik has to face another trial: our team will compete with Ararat-Armenia.  

During the ongoing championship Pyunik has twice met with Ararat-Armenia and has a positive balance in the match spent against its rival. During the third match day of the Premier League spent at Republican Stadium  our team playing with 10 players from the middle of the first half and yielding in the score (Robert Minasyan was send off for handling the  ball in the own penalty area)  eventually managed to win 3-1.

It is worth noting that it was Pyunik’s first performance in the ongoing championship as the matches of the first two rounds of the Premier League with the participation of our team had been postponed due to the matches of the UEFA Europa League. The match of the second round again spent at Republican Stadium Pyunik ended in a draw against Ararat-Armenia.

The upcoming match is of a great importance for our team in the standings therefore a positive result will allow Pyunik to improve its position at the top of the standings. Our midfielder Masym Trusevych will miss the match against Ararat-Armenia because of a disqualification. Evgeni Kobozev, Sergei Kolychev, Hovhannes Poghosyan and Mohamed Konate haven’t recovered of injuries yet.
